ENDA in support of the peoples summit not the official one.

ENDA a civil society organization from Senegal West Africa said they are in Brazil for the people and to say no to the Rio +20 official summit. Sheik Gueye from ENDA said they are saying no to the official summit because of the reberal approach they have taken to development. He said conveners want economic progress but ignoring massive nature, he said his organization is not for the idea of westernization but want solid economies built by Africans, such as right to land and not land grabbing for development.
Mr. Gueye has called upon African countries to build their own agenda and to take time to make progress relating to African situation not just following what the western world wants.
Gueye castigated African leaders for signing many agreements but without taking any action on what they sign, he said the issue here is not just about pursuing absolute growth, but growth with the protection of our sovereignty and our resources.
Sheik was speaking in an exclusive interview with Flamme da Afrique at the ongoing people’s summit in Rio de Janeiro Brazil.
